I'll whisper softly in an ear,
I'll attempt to describe my fear,
There's silence, no answer,
There is no reply.
I'll say quietly to somebody,
I need help, please help me,
But I can hear nothing,
There is no reply.
I'll raise my voice to the room,
Will somebody listen? Anyone of you?
Silence is the answer I receive,
There is no reply.
I'll sing out loud my song,
I'll show them something's wrong,
But it echoes, fades, leaving quiet,
There is no reply.
I'll scream, and I'll shout,
I'll explain what the noise is about
But all I hear is my voice,
There is no reply.
I'll cry outside in the pouring rain
I'll say things over, and over again,
But they walk straight on by,
There is no reply.
I'll walk barefoot to Trafalgar Square,
Climb Nelson's column, explode in despair,
I see people down there, upward they stare,
Yet as I close my eyes tight to say one last goodbye,
There is still no reply.

This is sad. Clever how you
This is sad. Clever how you’ve built from a whisper to an explosion to show the depths of how we often avoid each others’ pain. :)

Welcome to ABCTales Lucy -
Welcome to ABCTales Lucy - this is a great illustration of how it can feel as if no-one's listening. Is this one you wrote as a teenager? I hope you'll write more now and post them here!
