Coming Home (IP)

Whether it's in Paris,
in London, or Rome,
the chant is the same:
“It's coming home!”

It is about the trophy
that nations can get
If they win by playing
with a spherical object.

The English footballers
won the 1966 World Cup 
but nothing ever since,
yet haven't given up.

They hope to win again
and are very confident
of their skill and ability
but the fans are diffident.

They beat the Huns then,
when it seemed to be over;
now, though, the belief is
that it won't be a pushover.
