Cogito ergo sum.
We know that it means
“I think, therefore I am”
or je pense, donc je suis
if you want to flaunt
your linguistic skill.
 
I think whenever
I have time to kill.
I do it sotto voce
quietly, not aloud.
I'm not a philosopher.
just a cogitator.
 
I'm especially cogitant
during my daily walks.
And think it's important
to appreciate the attraction
of a tranquil countryside
and the absence of crowd.
 
Ideas float in my head,
irrational sometimes
yet whimsically poetic.
I ponder all the time
as I search my brain
for the perfect rhymes.
 
I wander “lonely as a cloud”
as Wordsworth did
and I'm a happy bunny
who often thinks of jokes
that people find funny
and that will not fall flat.
 
Don't ruminate too long
or you'll be addle-pated
and thinking unclearly.
Ensure your reasoning
is logical and plausible
or else you'll be slated.

Love addle-pated. My poor pate, so often addled. I like wandering by myself too. I think it's a little like walking around a gallery, I prefer to do that alone too so that I can stop for as long or as little as I want to look at things. I am not often thinking of rhymes though like you. Enjoyed this, Luigi. Rachel x

Leisurely and lonely walks are preferable for a greater enjoyment of one's environment. Rhymes seem to come to me naturally and sometimes I have the problem of trying to avoid them. Thanks for your feedback.

You are so right about walking giving inspiration Luigi.

When I walk with my partner we end up talking and missing some of the beauty around us, but when I'm alone it gives me time to think and ponder on life's words and thoughts. Though I have to say I wouldn't go walking alone in a forest now, or down country lanes...to scary on my own. But street walking is fine, going around the neighbourhood where I live gives me pleasure.

Hi Jenny. It is such a shame that women  should be frightened to walk alone down country lanes but it is a sad reality that the world has become more violent. But you are right that walking in a safe environment is ideal for getting pleasure and inspiration to be creative. Let's drink to that.
