'Bully' ta Boo

Tiptoed around the words of a 'bully',
mimicking them but now just let it be
Jokes that went too far, sometimes calling names
or hung up hastily, or laying blames
Have to grow and not let it affect us
Nor heal for some great rush of healing thus
-One day I wrote to the rhythm that allows
-me to undrum those curses and stop my wallows
It's time to untwist the hurt we both feel
Pick it out so we can all heal and seal
Wounds that are not physical but hurt more
Our pride and minds like a sugary sore
Instead of self-imprisonment, won't hide
At least, on common grounds, we can confide
-I wrote for sympathy, rhymes, harmony
-let go of pain to find childhood funny
Look back on old times and speaking for all
Step in shoes: right, wrong, fat, thin, short or tall
Re-ask what went wrong in yester-wars fought
Not let hate consume the good lessons taught
Harsh words don't matter now that we're wiser
They've kept us humble- an ego crusher
-Had enough of it then, I chose to walk
-Now patiently listen and learn to talk
To learn to not for myself feel sorry
So spent guilts no longer haunt or worry
Remember kind days, sharing at counters
When threats weren't carried out, 'd rather banter
I need mean it when I say friends, you see
In -or- action: carried out mutually
-Edit through the width and depth of good songs
-Or if they'll be passing: our crowns of thorns
To stop tormenting from picking a side
All young, Naïve, could be sharing a ride
For this time I sure am over those fights
We have been you, me, him, her, they and it
Words were not meant to hurt but somehow stung
to tunes for laughter and career rung
-Reflect it might have hurt more then, to stay
-At times for dreams and genuine beams, say:
Does not matter what we might have done wrong,
Because we were young and still are my friends
Let's look in the mirror and not hate, we
Make an effort to come out and to see
So please don't tip-toe around me for I
Have grown a thicker skin and today I
-Retreat a step to write well about it
-Yet when we meet, won't remind you of it
For to dwell on sad past would not be fair
Love in my writing an artistic flair:
Just one step back the sea exceeds the sky
and we'll fly like an eagle through the sky
Remind ourselves of what's good company
Travel far to relive good times, plenty
-So we go out, laugh, eat, and dance again
-And do not feel pain when we meet again
It has been grand to marvel, 'How much you've grown!'
We are all relieved for our worst sides we've shown
...they turn out to be fit-for-a-'throne'
not for show but so fars with smiles to throw
When you finally crack that 'better' joke
I'll catch the fun you conveniently poke
