Machine.

We don’t go out for a meal very often, as a family, about once a year or much less.
I just rang to book a meal for us and for my grandson.
It was an experience. I had to keep ending the call and dialling again, until it got it right!
It was all done by machine. I suppose that shows the success of the restaurant.
I had to press what day I wanted it, then how many adults, well there is only 4 adults and one child. But I started again, so that I could hear if there was a child option, there wasn’t.
I had to type one for Lunch time, or two for dinner time. I chose dinner.
The time had to be in the 24 hours.
The machine said, “If the booking is over 6 people, I will need your bank details, no money will be taken from your account, but if you don’t turn up, then £5 will be taken out for each person that it was booked for, do you agree these terms? Press one for yes, two for no.” I pressed One for yes.
The machine said, “Your booking is booked……” And the machine went on, “You will get a text with all the details of your booking, goodbye.”

Robotic voices
I recently went to see an Elvis Presley tribute act. I had to buy the tickets over the phone using a similar automated booking system to the one you have described.
The robotic voice at the other end of the line said, 'Well it's one for the money, two for the show, three to get ready, then go cat, go.'
