Rhine

It was in Whitby
I first decided a life by the sea
was the life for me
as a 15 year old walking along that beach
my lifes goals all seemed so far out of reach
but as I sit here on the banks of The Rhine
I believe all those dreams
really will be mine.

It was on the Isle Of Wight
when I first realised I might
have the life I pray for
listening to the water crash against the rocks
looking at the boats anchored in at the docks
I love sitting nearwater enjoying the sunshine
and never more than here
on the banks of The Rhine.

It was in Great Yarmouth
I was first on a boat
while everyone else was inside and warm
I was outside in my coat
enjoying the fresh air
and the wind in my hair
the coruscating lights
the day becoming night
the sun reflected on the water
later on so did the moon
little did I know that soon
I'd be spending so much time
on the banks of The Rhine
