Beyond Visiting Hours

I sat by her hospital bed ,

saying prayers for her in my head .

Waiting for her recovery

and the staff felt sorry for me .

i sat there every night and day

until she was feeling ok .

She read books when she was able.

Sitting on the bedside table ,

were get well cards and fresh flowers .

I was there on visiting hours ,

and booked a hotel room nearby .

I never thought that she would die.
