Bring Me Back

You give and you take

and you break and you make it up again

my friend . I know that I can depend on you

to restore and renew the hurt I feel

so as I kneel to say a prayer

I surrender all of the pain and the blame over to you

in the name of Jesus I claim what’s wrong

and make it right , show me the way to recover

and to discover my way back to you again ,

There’s no way through the barriers

that keep me away from you

and the way you listen to every word

that we shared is true

and how you remind me that you heard

and how you cared every step of the way

that took me back to you .

Even though I don’t deserve to be heard

you never turned me away my friend .

No one listens to a word I say

But you always do my friend .

I got to get back to your love again

like so many times before to who I am

and the way you can understand all the things I do

So how do I say thank you for being a friend

with a listening ear to lift me up above

with your gentle love that can’t be denied

and how could I hide the things I feel inside ,

cause when I hurt you care

and when I’m lost you’re always there

to bring me back to you .
