Chasing Aphrodite

Peter had been alone most of his life . Never had a girlfriend and never really knew what love was all about . Most of his friends at work thought he wasn’t a  friendly person but they misread him and were wrong . He was hurt and had learnt to turn his back on people who treated him cruelly .

With no family or friends in life he kept to his own personal space and remained at peace there unbothered with the world  around him.

After years of living alone he began to enjoy the silence of his sanctuary at home and started to become afraid when  had  go to work . He had to force himself to walk out the door to go to his job and all long he couldn’t wait to get home to his sanctuary . Something in his heart told him that it was wrong to feel that way and after giving it a lot of thought he decided he would try to look.

for someone to love before it was too late and he would become a prisoner in his home , so he sat down and wrote a note that said,

My name is Peter  and I’m searching for love so if you find this note that I wrote and if you know where love is I would be very grateful if you would please  tell me here, I can find it.

He put the note in an envelope and wrote Looking for Love, on the front  . Then he put the envelope and called it and went to the post office and put it in the slot of the large letter box out the front of the post office . On the way back home, he felt hopeful that things might change and that someone might answer his letter and he would find  someone to love . That night in the sorting room the workers were going through all the mail that had been posted during day and a young lady going through the letters noticed a letter with Looking For Love written on the front so being a kind considerate and single girl ,  she opened up the envelope and read the note Peter had wrote . On the top left of the note Peter wrote  his address . So, she wrote another note to reply to Peter. 

Hello Peter , 

Thank you for your letter . My name is Aphrodite and I wanted to write to you about your search for love .

 

Once I thought I too might find love but somehow it got lost and I’ve been also searching where it gas’s gone . Without love in the world, we cannot survive . So here I’m a trying again. If you really want to find love reply to my letter , I’ll write my post office box number for your reply .

After work finished she hand delivered the envelope to his home .Peter found the letter in the morning and read it as he ate breakfast and then responded before going to work .

Dear Aphrodite ,

Hello and thanks for answering my letter .  I never expected to get a reply to my looking for love. letter . Could you please connect me or tell me where I may go to find the someone  I’m looking for ?

Waiting for your reply .

Peter 

Off he went  to post the letter  immediately . He was very excited and eager to hear back from her . The next day on her way to work Aphrodite collected her mail and decided to get serious about meeting Peter but  first she would test him and see if he was willing to make an effort to meet him .She planned a game of searching for her that she hoped he would commence .  It was the starting point when love was asking to be found .

Early in the morning as Peter went walking to the gate to his car,  he found an envelope that was  hung on clothes peg from a string on the  branch of a tree and on front of the letter was a message.

Chasing Aphrodite 

He opened  the envelope and took out the note  . The  message said,

Peter this is Aphrodite .If you are the owner of a vacant heart then my answer to your question is yes.  I am the love you are  looking for but you will need to come to me . The search has just begun and if you’re serious then come to me today, I will wait for you until midday on a seat at  lovers lookout , in Friendship Forest, just two hours’ drive from here .

Tom was so excited . He never gave it a second to think and immediately drove off to the place he was told to go . He had never felt this happy before and couldn’t believe that someone had answered his call to find love in his life After finding the whereabouts of Friendship Forest he eagerly made his way to that place where Aphrodite was waiting . He  arrived there at Friendship Forest and  parked the car near Lovers Lookout . As he  walked to the lookout  an envelope was hanging from a branch. near to the seat and on the front of the envelope was a message that said, Hello Peter you are almost there . Tom quickly opened the envelope and read the note that said  Hello , I can see your heart is true because  you have travelled far to be here so I know that you are serious and I am so glad I have found you . I have searched all my life to meet someone like you and if you could continue a little further to meet me on the path to  where our journey together can begin. Hold this letter in your hand when you arrive as a symbol of our love. I will be there waiting this Saturday morning at the entrance to the sky cable car ride on Hope Mountain in the State Heartland National park .  You’ll need to book a flight to Silent Valley tonight and book a nights accommodation to the Travelling Light Guesthouse  before making the horseback trek on the road at Hope Mountain . The horses are very quiet , all you need to do is in the saddle , there are guides to bring you to where the cable cars rides are .There’s also a tourist information centre at the Silent Valley airport to help you organise all the bookings you’ll need for Saturdays car ride .

Peter booked the flight immediately and arrived there at Silent Valley that evening and spoke to the tourist information who helped him organise the horseback ride up the mountain to the Sky Cable Car Ride place . The timing was perfect and everything was booked for the adventure and sky cable  car ride on Saturday morning .  

On Saturday morning Peter stood at the entrance to the Sky Cable  Car Ride and held tightly to the envelope in his hand . As he stood there admiring the work of the talented graffiti artists on some of the fixtures , a beautiful lady approached home and placed a golden handcuff around his wrist, the other was attached to hers. Peter was taken by surprise.  The beautiful lady kissed him on the cheek  and looked into his eyes  and then she whispered,

“My name is Grace but you know me as Aphrodite . Now Peter , we have found love.”

Peter was love struck for the very first time in his life. Now at last he knew what it felt  like to be in love. He looked into her eyes and said.

“I love you Grace  “

She replied,

“Love is a beautiful thing Peter  and well worth finding.”

Peter replied.

“I never thought I  would ever find love in my life . “

“But love found you Peter and here we are . Our journey has just begun. Let’s get that sky cable car ride and never forget thus moment “

Peter said,

“I can’t believe how this has happened to me.”

She replied,

“‘When I first read your letter , I picked it up and knew in my heart I had found someone good and  true . I hoped you would prove to me you were the man I needed be with me always and look  here we are “

Before taking the cable car ride,  she took a key from her pocket and unlocked the handcuffs. Then she took a padlock from her bag and the handcuff’s  on to a fence where some other couples  had left their love own locks as a symbol of their love for each other.

Peter and Grace were married on a beautiful morning in a private garden setting and after their honeymoon in Paris they began their life together . After they bought a home and called it Aphrodite’s Rest they lived and loved as if tomorrow never existed. Every day Peter and Grace continued to leave each other  secret little love notes each day with messages that all meant the same. thing .  I love you.
