City Born

City born and city bred, on the back streets where I played .

We made songs up in our head , told stories no one had read .

City born life is fast, people and traffic zooming past.

Sometimes city people ask , is it passing or will it last.

City born , rock and roll , little bit of country and a lot  of soul .

City born, jive and swing, living in the city we got songs to sing.

Play the blues and add some jazz ,the sound of music  that the city has .

City born and city bred. got to keep up to stay ahead

Run away and make a break,

escape from the concrete landscape .

City smoke , fuels and gas , gets up your nose as you walk past ,

It’s the city and its  blast , in the city things never last .

City born and torn between the grey concrete and fields of green.

City born and sworn to be part of the city where I dream of things

to come when everyone is happy to be in this big city.

City born and city bred, its part of me , its in my blood .

I can’t change the things I should and wouldn’t even if I could .

City life is part of the scene and we’re all trying to chase a dream.

I love everything I’ve seen, I wouldn’t forget where I’ve been,

City born, I love this place, trying to find an empty space.

A big rat race with a dirty face,

Its got ears and eyes everywhere.

On the crowd  ,  in the air.

No time to spare ,

Say goodbye , goodnight , hello there

. City born, city bred , its in my head .
