On The Corner
By Paul McCann
I ventured on the highway as guitar in my hand ,
I went to sing my songs on the streets of Ireland .
I tried to make it on Sunday but the church was so far away
I stood there on the corner and I began to pray .
Lord I believe in you and I know miracles come true .
So I’ll leave it up to you to arrange .
Standing on the corner, a horse without a name
I wished that all my life could start over again .
Lord I’ve had enough of everything that’s so tragic
and I believe with all my heart that you can do magic .
My faith it is strong and I pray maybe today is the day
that things will change for me .
I’m just one of those lonely people , I need you to know
Can somebody hear me I just want to say hello .
It’s foggy in the morning , its hard to see the sky
but I can hear the footsteps of the people passing by .
there’s so much that I need Lord .
standing on the corner I sure could use a feed
feeling so lost and alone,
standing on the corner looking for a home .
