Downhill With No Brakes

In the city of heartaches 

a scream just seconds away ,

down to the  traffic lights

that changed from red to green today .

 

Eyes open wide the nightmare begins , 

 the driver awakes ,

its sad but its true , 

free wheeling an RV with no brakes .

 

Downhill with no brakes 

there’s no end to the nightmare 

it seems 

Downhill with no brakes 

nobody could hear the 

piercing screams .

 

 The nightmare continued on ,

 there was no end to the dream,

sitting there  in a wheel chair, 

 it’s the same scene at the scene .

 

His whole life  changed there forever

in the blink of an eye ,

he should have fixed those squealing brakes

he’d heard in days gone by .

 

Pray for the  man

who remembers the day

his brakes had gone  

and in his memory  

the nightmare still rolls  on and on .

He thinks of all those people 

who lost their lives on that  day ,

when he lost control of his RV as it  ran away .

 

For God sake people 

we’ve got to do what ever it takes

so don’t keep driving if you’re thinking

you’ve got faulty brakes 

 

Downhill with no brakes 

it’s a  nightmare you don’t want to  live .

Downhill with no brakes ,

too late to stop , too hard to forgive .
