The Dragon Who Liked To Sing
By Paul McCann
Delaruvian was a funny kind of a dragon . She was always angry and liked to argue a lot .
She easily lost her temper and fought with everyone . The only thing that calmed her down was when she flew .
She was faster and stronger than most other dragons and when she flew she sang and when she sang she felt free .
Her flights brought her peace of mind and the ability to explore other lands and high mountains where she found her favourite herbs and other vegetation .
One morning as she flew above the clouds she noticed there were a lot more clouds than usual.
She decided to make a descent to get underneath the clouds to see where she was flying to but as she did instead of going straight through the clouds she landed on top of the clouds which were spongy to walk on .
She came to this large cloud cave and went inside where she ended up in mystical land of rainbows and rivers and waterfalls cascading in pools around gardens filled with fruit trees .
Feeling hungry she went over and started eating the fruit which made her go unconscious .
When she awoke she felt different in fact she felt happy and at peace . There were other dragons there who approached her and for the first time in her life she wasn’t angry . She was actually friendly and spoke in a kind way to the dragons .
Something really nice had happened to Delaruvian .
She had never felt this way before.
In harmony with life and everything . She started singing and in a few moments she was surrounded by other dragons who joined in singing like a choir that attracted creatures from
everywhere to listen .
There was a beautiful sound that echoed all around .
Dragonflies danced and monkey debutants took a chance and started to sing as well . Donkeys laughed and kangaroos hopped while elephants stamped and trumpeted their happy tunes for the crocodiles who smiled while the bees hummed along with the croaking frogs and chirping crickets .
Delaruvian was so happy and never left that mystical land and remains there still today .
The End
