I Wished For You

Never ask me why I fell in love with you ,

I looked up at a star , as dreamers often do

and closed my eyes in wonder as I made a wish for you

I wished for you then it happened ,

wishes do come true ,

it could happen to you ,

I wished for you in a magic moment

and the stars danced in the sky ,

I wished for you

and  the miracle of love happened to you and I .

Moonbeams on  haystacks in fields of golden wheat ,

the village is in  darkness and the dreamers are asleep,

I woke up to a new day

and your love was mine to keep    .

I wished for you like dreamers do,

I wished for you like lovers do,

I wished for you as if I knew

that the wish I made would come true
