Tossed into the veil of the night,

on a highway to the morning light .

They went driving down with nowhere to go

and everything was all right .

They listened to some music

and they sang together in harmony  .

On a night ride, side by side ,

they were in love and travelling free .

All they wanted was each other

and the road that took them far away  .

The stars looked down from a lonely sky

and the night found a new day .

They came to a place they’d never been

and the road left them alone .

Lost out there without a care in the world ,

they finally made it home  .

Lost and alone in love

with nobody to tell them what to do  

the long road was gone and their life went on

the way they wanted it to .

Lost and alone in love

That’s all they ever wanted and nothing more

far enough away from everything

to where they’d never been before   .
