A Monday  Lie In

As she opened her eyes

she looked up to the skies,

through the window in her room .

The stars were shining bright

on a cold winters night

and Monday had come too soon .

She never had a dream ,

she woke up to the scream .

of a very noisy child  .

 She closed her eyes again

and listened to the rain ,

 and she stayed in bed a while .

She felt comfortable there ,

holding her teddy bear

half asleep but still aware .

 She smelt bacon and eggs

and stretched her arms and legs

before getting out of bed .
