No Ones Home
By Paul McCann
Bad news, the blues, Eugene what can I say .
Your soles have holes and you’re walking away.
Shift off Eugene, shuffle away from my door.
Here’s how it is ,no one’s home anymore .
I rang you on the phone Eugene
But you never took the call .
A message left, that’s all .
No one home at all .
Standing on the sidewalk
Right outside my door .
Go home Eugene , no one’s home anymore .
No shoes Eugene and no jeans to wear .
You’re black faced and broke and losing your hair .
Get up off the floor .
Eugene make the scene .
Until the day you do ,
No ones home anymore .
That old hat is wearing thin Eugene ,on a good head .
People often say that you’d be better off dead .
Bad news Eugene just the same as before .
Don’t look so sad,
No ones home anymore .
No shoes Eugene and no jeans to wear .
You’re black faced and broke .
Your hair is gone and you just carry on .
Get up off the floor .
Eugene make the scene .
Until the day you do ,
No ones home anymore .
