 A Poor Mans Shoes

Its hard to stand tall in a poor man’s shoes

when they call you a no good bum ,.

looking at you through their filthy eyes

they treat you like you’re covered in scum.

In their minds you’re like a leper to them ,

they’ll  always look the other way

but  shake off the dust from your poor mans shoes

and walk on to a brand new day .

Long may the sun shine on a poor mans shoes

as he walks on mile after mile

with  a skip in his step and hope in his heart

and happiness in a warm smile  .

A poor mans shoes only last for a while until they’re well worn out and done

but with every stride through life he takes he’s got a smile as bright as the sun   

Walk for a while in a poor mans shoes

and discover the wealth of a smile

and if by chance you want to dance you will find

life can be something worthwhile   .
