Recognition Granted

Recognition finally arrived, but long after it was due.

Like an apology scribbled on paper and flushed down the loo ,

Acknowledgement came when someone unblocked

some paper in the drain and after wiping off some of the stain,

they recognised my name ,’

From the gutter to goodness, appreciation was send to me

from those kind people who were able to read the apology ,

Acceptance was welcomed by me

and all that I ever wanted was to be recognised

and never to be taken for granted .
