Wired Differently

I dance to rhythms others miss,
In tangled thoughts and mental twists.
Too loud, too much, too fast, too deep
A mind that rarely goes to sleep.
A spark, a storm, a sudden flame,
A thousand thoughts with no clear name.
I feel the world in vivid hue,
In every tone, in every view.
They call me scattered; maybe true,
But stars are scattered, brilliant too.
I chase the wonder few can see,
In chaos, there is harmony.
Autistic heart, ADHD drive,
Together, somehow, I survive.
No box can hold this kind of soul,
Too wild, too bright, too fierce, too whole.
I mask, I cope, I break, I mend,
I learn, I burn, I twist, I bend.
But in my depth, there lies a light,
An inner flame that burns so bright.
So don’t erase, don’t dim, don’t cure.
This way of being that’s so pure.
I’m wired differently, not wrong,
A neurodivergent, a lifelong song.

This is stunning!
This is stunning!
Heartfelt and powerful. So many lines I loved - but 'They call me scattered; maybe true, But stars are scattered, brilliant too' is just amazing - it should be spray-painted on billboards and fwnces everywhere! Wonderful words with a vital sentiment. Neuroradiant!

I agree with Jupitermoon,
I agree with Jupitermoon, your poem is powerful and heartfelt. The vivid word play, the mercurial pace of each line drives the message, and the message is beautiful. Thank you for sharing.
