Lonely Waters

Oh I long for the salty smell of the harbour,
The sun dancing on the water,
The mackerel jumping out in the sea,
People gathering just to watch
Few with rods pulling them out by the dozen.
Oh the days that were!
Yes the sun will dance and the mackerel jump,
But to no audience,
No rods to pull them out,
No one to gather,
The seas salty waters lonely,
As am I!

Lovely response to the IP.
Lovely response to the IP. Such a poignant last line! If nothing else, this is teaching us never to take even the company of strangers for granted.

An inspiring poem monodemo.
An inspiring poem monodemo. You're never alone when you have an imagination and abc tales to share it with.
Hope you manage to get out for a walk, even if it is just around the neighbourhood.
Best wishes,
Jenny.
