He was a divine creature, a God living among the clouds
With dust of Venus coursing through his immortal being
Dulled by the heavens
He looked down onto a field of daisies
And for a moment he saw a sole sunflower
Desperate for another one of his blissful escapes from his infinite rule
He rode down from the sun on his gleaming chariot
Seeking to pick this sunflower
This pleasant little anomaly happened to be a wandering wood nymph
Tending to her forest fully with gentle hands and a kind heart
Gracious for company she led him through her pathless forest
And as she did, he stole her spirit from her trees and springs
She his willing victim
For to her, he seemed to be part of her nature that she had always loved so deeply and dearly
When he spoke her dormant blossoms, she had been so despearatly coaxing to awaken, they bloomed eagerly to listen
His mind was as vast and steep as her rocky mountains that toulsed the clouds
His smile so bright he fed her greenery well into the night
His laugh mended her oak's trunk that had been struck down by an angry God, that she had unceasingly attempted to heal
He was a welcome foriegn breeze in her forest
Swaying her precious trees
And heart
She saw the stars make love to the universe when she looked into his eyes
She experienced Winter turning to Spring beneath her very skin when he touched her
The moon seemed to live in the lining of his skin
Enchanting her with his luminescense
Their presences blended together in harmony as she continued to aquaint him with her beloved wood
And her forest knew it for her willow, impossibly enough, ceased its infinite weeping
A nymph's love is reserved solely for her forest
But this little sprite found this celestial being to be very deserving of being part of her forest
So she offered him her sweet, never faltering love
And asked him to put out the fire the sun had set in her heart for him
So he took her love
And for a night, he was her Sun and she his Moon
Absorbing each other's rays
Admiring each other's beauty on that long summer's night
Him slowy setting and her slowly rising
Until for a few captivating moments they stared face to face across the sky
Their love was fleeting and nectarous, like the change in air minutes before rainfall
But intense, for their sparks shot straight to the Moon herself
She approved of them immensly and made them into her companions as stars
The shining God and gleaming nymph populated the sky that night
But in the misty, lavender dawn
The God awoke to find himself bored yet again
Considered this sleeping sunflower picked
And rode off into the sun in his chariot
The nymph awoke to the harsh rays of sun and abadonment burning her fair skin
She knew this was how she would awaken
For she was never a naiive nymph as one might have thought
She knew the nature of the God
And that if she sipped from his Ambrosia he offered it would be venomous to her in the end
But her thrist had overcome her will, as it always will
So she gathered what was left of her love, ignored the spread of sugar venom through her anatomy, and wandered to a parched field of wildflowers where she hoped her tears would do some good
That night the sweet spirit laid under the stars
And watched hers fall from the company of the moon and dapple her skin
As the moon made new friends
She smiled as she watched the Moon become more and more popular
Though it hurt to watch for the venom was still sharp and relentless in her veins
She knew the God was contenting himself once again
And if part of her forest was happy
She was happy
