Conflict, Resolution and a Moral.

(1) Conflict?
Dear old Julius Caesar was a very well known Roman.
Who, while in Britain long ago, went Roamin' In the Gloamin',
And there in deep reflection, battle weary and quite stonkered,
He wrote that cute immortal phrase, "I came, I saw, I conquered!"

Now Socrates on the other hand created quite a stink,
Upset the Greek establishment teaching young folk how to think.
The powers-that-be felt threatened by this *ideas revolution*
So they ended it by giving him a practical solution.

(2) Resolution?
Then Caesar filled with hubris retraced his steps to home ,
To be greeted wildly by the folks way back in sunny Rome.
In fact their fervour led them on to offer Jules a crown;
But Brutus and his Bovver Boys scotched plans and put him down!

And Socrates? The record shows (according to friend Plato)
The City Fathers had in store for him a hot potato:
The solution that they handed him was one of civic malice
In the form of deadly hemlock in a sexy golden chalice.

(3)Moral:
Every conflict has a resolution, but it's not always the best
solution.
