Faith, unwavering

Faith, unwavering
An unflinching faith in my mother
as my all-powerful, mighty protector
capable of thwarting all the miseries on my way,
being sure of it undisturbed, I used to merrily play,
this faith in my childhood days
in me now glitteringly blaze
while Ma Durga I propitiate
begging Her blessings, lying prostrate
with faith tarnished by worldly distractions
on her ability, raising mortal man's questions.
The philosophies on her images and weapons
and on her nine images of Navaratri vanquishing evil demons
on the contents of compositions of hymns in Her honor
their recitals, creating momentary faith that vanishes soon after.
at her frame and form, power and grace are beyond infinity
to limit these inconceivable traits, endeavors this foolish humanity
pale these before the faith a child has in its mother
Hey Ma Durga! Bless me to possess similar faith in you forever.
