Half laugh
(Imagining a child is laughing with hand on mouth)
P K Routray
Giggle, gulf, grin or chuckle,
laugh, smile smirk or chortle,
each is an expression of emotion
either a real outburst or out of pretentious intention.
When a child laughs in half suppression
It is either to hide its shame of teeth extraction
or at us, the senior world being novice of many a divine lesson.
Smiles and looks of innocence
are laden with divine eloquence
to draw our mercy from the self-centered and cruel heart
to keep the children pure, innocent and loving from the start,
It would be possible only by our practical example
on their innocence, purity and divinity if we do not not trample
They keenly observe and learn from each of our deeds,
In them our commissions and omissions sow the complexity seeds.
Let us take pity on these tiny tots
to keep them free from our life’s heinous knots.
Let their innocent smile continue till the last breathe
and to them let peace, bliss and love in life never bequeath.
