My tribute and my tears
Budu, a tribal boy
denied to enjoy
the boons of civilization
alien to his tribe and his region.
since generations his ancestral anchorage
made their living close to that of the Stone Age
with wears, dwells, and foods straight from the forest
often battling with beasts on trees, they take rest
now from NALCO on superannuation
settled with his family in comfort and fun
no less than those considered as privileged elsewhere
thus, his company, Nalco, has taken his care
with heart-rending grief and heartfelt gratitude
he bows at his mentor, Indu Madam, shaping his attitude
to turn from a tribal boy of stone age stature
to Budu acclaimed as the best hand in technology by the world, over.
Budu is a symbolic say on Madam’s contribution
on everything, everybody at Damanjodi, Nalco’s presentation
from the curtain of the guest house to the tribal’ s education
motivating womenfolk to come forward
together to work for the tribal, backward
enjoying their togetherness at a place, remote
among them, a kith and kin relationship, she could promote.
People from different sects cast region and nations
assembled at Damanjodi for Alumina production
jovially lived under her stewardship
an achievement developed by her sisterly relationship.
Hey madam your contribution is phenomenal
to Damanjodi and its dwellers, tribal
you, from behind the screen
glorified your spouse’s deeds on the scene
A diamond jubilee couple’s harmonious success
that we like Budu around in the society assess
not only in your community and family life show
bot also you contribution to the entire nation at which we bow
The world annals on aluminum in silence
will speak your services with unspoken eloquence
yes your contribution
brought to worldwide recognition
on Potting bauxite and tribal of the region
undermined as a low-quality and naive workforce
World Aluminum experts declared it as unviable source.
But potency and value of the bauxite deposit
and calibers in tribal forces flourished to Nalco’s credit.
Hey Indu Madam
unique, awesome
and noteworthy is your upbringing
copper steel, and aluminum in your wisdom spring
that sparked in you in your endeavor
to make naïve tribal and an unfit deposit world-beater
As an infant gal
endured you, a blow lethal
when your dad passed away
you missed his loss in your daily play
but reminiscing about him with age
his absence, you could gauge
Behind his care and affection
his administration and mission
missed you with your infancy’s snap
searched you in your relations to compensate the gap
thus the misery of his absence
nurtured you to seek his presence
in love of your kith and kin
developing a divine trait to win
othrs love and affection everywhere
in the ill luck a blessing for the quality rare
A five-decade association
a contact with a divine incarnation
as the spouse of our boss
awed us, with her moral ethos
partnering him in a conjugal journey
to serve for the society in harmony
Hey madam! In you, at times, we saw our sister. Elder
as a sibling sharing the womb of one mother
to correct us at times, as an irked mother
listened we, your pitches, harsher and louder
as a co-member in our life journey
for your company, we are grateful to the estiny.
On my dying bed
your hand on my forehead
as if lord responding to my prayer
with sincere well-wishers of a mother
with the caring touch of a sister, elder
with tearful prayers of a sister younger
pardoning my ill doings, any sort
with the motivating touch of a boss to exhort
to invigorate my vigor, inner
to win over ailment, the monster
Madam, your visits invigorated my spirit
my gratitude to you, no word can convey it
my tears will never dry
with gratitude and tears
till my last sigh
Propelled by providence
out of reverence
arrived at your residence
to meet both of you
and convey my gratitude due
after recovery, when I was able to walk
on our bondage to chat and talk
your grip to hold me with care
not to fall down on your stair
while escorting me to your residence
commands in me a divine reverence
that meet that treat
made me feel like an elite
thanks to a godsend opportunity
to meet in mortal form a divine entity.
A year has passed since we lost you
decades and centuries will pass too
with time, everything will perish
our mortal play witth madam will also vanish
But pray, we for repetitions
of our associations
with Indu Madam, as our mentor
to make joyous global world Damanjodi sector
All gospels tell
on repetitions of life cycles after a spell
P K Routray
in the service of the Lord
(A tribute to Madam Indu Mohanty, who left us one year back
Damanjodi, Pottangi are places where NALCO operates as an Aluminum complex)

I have to confess to never
I have to confess to never having read anything quite like this before. It's clearly a personal tribute to the way in which an aluminium mining company in India has transformed the lives of local tribes people who used to live quite primitive lives. You combine biography, social history, spiritual reflection and gratitude into your poem and you have probably written it in a language other than your own. Well done!
