The Man of Truth and Consequence

I knew a guy
Who could not lie
He always told the truth

And then one night
His child in fright
Knocked out his front tooth

"Oh," she spurt
"Dad did it hurt?"
He looked at her and said,

"Why yes it did,
You stupid kid"
And hit her in the head
