Deep in the Forest of Dean

Evening light in the afternoon,
secluded valley with autumn trees
above and around, but the sheep munch on
as we walk along, startled pheasants erupt –
wings whirr in their stuttering, squawking flight;
and the stream tumbles through the rough grass lush
deep in the Forest of Dean.

Hi Rhiannon,  I spent many a happy time in the Forest of Dean back in the 1970s and your picture of words conjured up some wonderful memories for me.  Great work and thank you for sharing.  Jenny.

I'm glad it stirred up good memories, Jenny. It is indeed a lovely area, and we were blessed with a lovely short walk most beautiful and peaceful that afternoon, especially appreciated as we were returning from a few days' respite from our present caring duties.
