It is a suprising thing
that birds can sing
so well.
It is a surprising fact
to tell
that they have tracked
their way around our sphere
– their brains do not appear
sufficient size
to organise
things so useful
and so beautiful.
It is a surprising thought
to realise
that so many are taught
that a chemical roulette
could evolve
to solve
such musical
and navigational
feats.

Another lovely poem about creation - nicely put. this piece has a happy light mood, and I think the rhymes work really well, too.

This is such a nice light poem, I could almost feel the fluttering of wings as I read it! Great IP Rhiannon.

Nicely put, Rhiannon. I find it surprising, too. What a fragile but at the same time incredibly durable thing this complex thing called life is. Much enjoyed. Thank you.

Hi Rhiannon
Hi Rhiannon
Another lovely informative poem. I appreciate the sounds of the dawn chorus more now that I have been reading about birds from your poetry. It really is remarkable how they have a pecking order or song making, and the sounds are so intricate.
