Three-year old helpers

A mother’s work is never done,
though seasoned with a lot of fun;
as toddlers grow up bigger, stronger,
you find your jobs are taking longer
– not just because of interruptions,
but also all the good intentions
of little helpers who compete
between your arms, beneath your feet
to sweep the floor – exciting chore! –
and sort the washing, and much more;
how pleasant vacuuming can seem
when little helpers sleep and dream!

thankyou for putting a link
thankyou for putting a link to this on :0) I know I've said it before, but you would be great at writing those leaflets health visitors give first time parents? I didn't have any adult help and just wanted it to be different from what I had had. This is so real and fun, I wish I had read it 12 years ago! Your children and grandchildren must have had/have a lovely time :0) My son used to love hoovering because it was the closest thing to a tractor we had (lots of noise etc) but tended to be just the one small field in the middle of the floor :0)
