Evening Triumph

Clouds begin to plot

evening’s arrival –

shadows trickling down the mountain

shadows of chill and tree-top movements

close as daylight’s romance –

Nature’s finest display.

The dance provides momentum

of closing sky --

down and still down the curtain’s close,

feral creatures anxious with

attending enthusiasm

night-time life anxious

for renewal –

activity on hold for a brief time

owls, coyotes, wolves

and others will prowl the night

as the cycle of life

growls in happy abandon.
