London City
London is a magnet; venture into her streets and mews.
Talk to people from every lifestyle; listen to their views.
Stroll down the shop parades, displaying all their wares.
Fashion is the craze nowadays, this young generation cares.
Local markets are a way of life, aromas from fine meals.
You may find a bargain, but watch for those shady deals.
Art galleries and theatres are there for people's pleasure.
They are part of London's heritage to visit at ones leisure.
Buildings of distinction are many; tourists really admire,
Parliament, Buckingham Palace, all sightseers are inspired.
Restaurants, coffee houses, cafeterias and that is not all.
You can go to a disco, or be invited to a fancy ball.
Piccadilly, Strand and Oxford Street, to name just a few.
If these landmarks could speak, a tale would be told to you.
Shame is upon us all; cardboard homes are in this city.
Many people live in them, on whom we should take pity.
