     America's Biden Administration, from its top embodiment in merry Joe himself, to the thousands of energetic and educated civil servants that was its heart, was a great institution that delivered sound like legislation like the infrastructure and chips act; and if there was a failure, it was one of excess caution and inaction, and that's what voters wanted when they elected wizened old Joe Biden to the Oval Office: a cool head.  They got it- so let's clear Biden's honorable name.

He lost an election to the worst President in American history. That's a flop. I wish it didn't happen too. I'd hope upwards of 80 million Americans wouldn't vote for the moron's moron. I was wrong. They were wrong in my estimation. It's cost the world in lives and gutted the American economy. Shovelling even more money to the already wealthy, including most notably Trump, whose mass loottng has went largely unremarked. Biden wasn't the solution, but if he failed to stop Trump, which he did, he's culpable. Part of the problem.

Don't you think the Democrats were at least partially culpable for fielding someone who was obviously past it, and then parachuting in Kamla Harris at the last moment when it was too late for her to mount a proper campaign ?

I can't help thinking that if the Democrats had fielded Gavin Newsome as their candidate for 2024, right from the beginning of the campaign, then the result might have been different.  But only might.

I have the feeling that Biden tried to heal or unite Americans, by compromising and buiding. He was quite a safe pair of hands, with a capable administration. As we now know he was too soft on the January 6th rioters, although he did send plenty of them to prison. As we know the ones who caused it, Donald Trump and certain MAGA politicians should also have been sent for trial for treason or whatever. As we now know they let them off the hook too readily. He didn't do anything like enough to stop Israel's revenge 'genocide' against Palestinians.

I like your piece about Biden. He mainly deserves your accolade!
