Sounds of the City

The sounds of the city,

mixed with my mind,

is all I can take some insomniac nights:

the quiet yet throbbing hum of street-lights;

the steady, lion-like roar of car engines,

and the shorter, stacatto roars of motor-bikes,

the hackneyed pitches of a dozen merchants

I liked your treatment of sounds so familiar, I often lament... Living the other side of the hill and a freeway, I can only hear similar when the wind blows from the South.
