There was you

There was me

It was heavenly

A moment

In time

Intertwined destiny

You fitted

All of me

Safely, perfectly

You walked away

With the key

Now I’m locked in a memory

I often wonder if people I cared about from the past ever think of me, like I do of them. This poem summed up my feelings completely being the nostalgic type of person that I am.

Yay! We share the nostalgia ... and the thoughts about people who may not even ever have a thought about us in their minds again... being the empathetic beings we are, maybe that's a feather in our cap and a loss for those who have forgotten things that may have just made them a little wiser...

Heh heh, OR they do think of us as we do of them. . . 

Only one way to make it certain - message them so they have to think of you ;) I actually received a text message once that read: "I am thinking of you, so I am sending you a text message now so that you have to think of me too." I thought it very funny at the time.

memory as a chrysalis? You can break out, strong, with wings to fly free of the past. They are dust

I love butterflies, but it's a battle to get dust out of the lungs.
