A Mistletoe Moment

A Mistletoe Moment
My forehead near your heart
My hands on your waist
A moment for my hurt to rest
In the strength of your embrace
Your hold brings me comfort
Your heartbeat calms my soul
The only place of love I know
In a world where I don’t fit
You cup my chin to lift my eyes
And hold my soul in sight
Then kiss my forehead delicately
And my nose with soft delight
Then your lips pray with mine
In a tender kiss divine
Filling my lost and lonely soul
With a knowing: God is in control
For how could I be standing here,
Joined with you in such a prayer,
Living the fruition of God’s promise,
If Love didn’t exist?
Two strong and fragile souls
United in embrace
Blessedly making heaven real
Standing in this place

I LOVED this poem. You have
I LOVED this poem. You have captured moments that I have shared. Words in that moment would be unwelcome yet the two communicate with a clarity that is frightenly powerful.
A great piece.
Thank you for writing it.
