Sounds have a meaning
A baby’s cry,
A mother knows
Feed, wind or nappy
A child’s tears,
A teacher knows
Bullying, abuse or fears
A wife’s sigh,
A husband knows
Content, sad or tired
A dog’s bark,
A provider knows
Play, fun or danger
A victim’s scream,
The helpless knows
Rape, beating or pain
A patient’s groan,
A medic knows
Dislocated, twisted or broken
Just sounds, reverberations
Tales no alphabet will ever reconstruct
Yet their substance echoes through eternity
