Through Wolf Eyes

To see through wolf eyes
wakens soul, opening ways
of stripping all annoying
thoughts; it's a place full of
misty breath entwining large
pines, their branches haunted
in stillness;
evocative Cathedral pillars
hear echo of howling, where
nightly moths flutter promise
of mystery in tranquility, mossy
staircase of green rocks a
slippery climb; leads to mighty
cascade, but only winged ones
reach this rousing wonderment.
Wolf knows secrets...sees ancient
tree spirits communication with
rivulets, where old father time gets
to follow the seasons, watching for
dragonflies skimming surface in
stillness,
he's vigilant to the ways of wolves;
muzzles open to grasp enough rain
before perpetual water's absorbed,
they nip thirst in the bud – yet alert
for any danger lurking, supple limbs
ready to fly.

Evocative and atmospheric. A dramatic poem, for sure. Enjoyed. Paul :)

Lovely words Jenny.
Lovely words Jenny.
They make me think of our dog, Snezhinka. We rescued her from the street when she was a pup so she's still a bit wild, spending a lot of time alone in the forest. I'm sure she has delusions of grandeur.
