White Noise

Now I'm in the system riding on ocean
waves of chemotherapy and medication
deeper than anything I've known before,
needles bruise; feeding Pembrolizumab –
Aprepitant – Ondansetron.
Restore this malfunctioning body, let me
be pure...crush the enemy. I imagine good
cells as they glow in bright white light that
shimmers as I anticipate autumn's energy
for release of repressng heat.
But still now constant white noise combs my
hearing after fourth treatment, encompassed
reverberation, high pitched nuisance that's
depriving me of calm.
Gently awaken tranquility before petals open,
those spring colours transforming elegance that
spread memories of my youth, where breathing
space gives hope before reality kicks in leaving
chills to envelope my thoughts once again.

So glad your muse has paid a
So glad your muse has paid a visit, Jenny. It's quite beautiful. Words matter. Getting those feelings out is good for the soul. Happy that a weight had been lifted that Saturday giving you the energy to pen this piece. Thinking of you over here in the Hudson Valley as I await that good Fall weather. I was a Fall and Winter child as well. Hugs to you, dear Jenny.

It's wonderful to see a poem
It's wonderful to see a poem from you and to know you are progressing in a healthier direction. Feeling stronger and creative between treatments is a good sign. Your poem is touching and beautifully imagined, And Autumn is my favorite season too; the changing leaves and cool nights are a much needed pleasure after the extreme heat of summer. Take care my friend and be assured many prayers for renewed health are flowing your way. ![]()
