Beyond Casualties

It’s best not to be rotten
Than to be sought to beforgotten
How do you mourn the dead,
If you never knew them?
Spoils forgotten gems of our last
For fading memories that will never last
Giving you a kiss before you go
Holding onto resentment to which I won’t show
It’s frivolous to hold onto silly things
Who knows what the future will bring?
It’s something you can’t see
Something you can’t hear
What’s left of you I will hold dear
Can you grieve over me?
How should I mourn the dead,
If I never got to know him?
