I’m sitting here alone

I’m sitting here alone,
thinking about what could have been if I could had found the words to draw your attention.
Or maybe that was what my problem was. I was always looking for the words. It’s like they say, “action speak louder than words.” Maybe I would have grabbed your hand, when we were dancing around the room. Maybe I would have held you, when you told me how life can be unfair. Maybe I should have really looked at you, when you told me you deepest secrets. Maybe.
I’m sitting here alone,
thinking about how my life has changed without you,
When I wake up in the morning, I don’t get to see that smile that could warm the heart of the saddest soul. When I tell a joke, I don’t eat to hear that contagious laugh that you try to hide. When I talk to other people, I don’t get to those eyes that peer into my soul, looking for my insecurities not to break me down, but to build me up.
I’m sitting here alone.
