"Has My Son Got The Right Idea.....?"

I have two kids, they are like chalk and cheese, Meghan saves her money and if she has to spend, she doesn’t take out twenty pounds here and there, thus wasting the change, she takes her money out by card, so nothing is wasted not one penny. She saves. Then there is Daniel, he has never saved, he spends his money, “That’s what it’s for.” I always say, to anyone, “If I gave both my kids one thousand pounds, Meghan would put hers in the bank and it would last her a very long time, Daniel however, would buy a cap for fifty pounds and then he’d treat his close friends, all those who has treated him when he had nothing, for he doesn’t forget kindness that is ever shown to him. All the money would be spent the same day for, “I could be hit by a bus tomorrow, so what’s the point of saving?”

I went to Church yesterday, Easter Sunday and took a friend with me, she loved it and felt peaceful. It was mentioned there about the bomb attacks, for I don’t listen or watch the news anymore, unless something pops up on Facebook, well it was announced at Church about the bombs that had gone off at the Churches and luxury hotels and almost three hundred people have been killed and over five hundred injured.

I thought of those lives, those who had been cleared of cancer, those on their honeymoon, those expecting their first child, those celebrating their birthday, the staff who worked there making a living to send money to families, those who have bought things from eBay and wouldn’t be paying for them, thus getting a negative feedback for not paying and those who have made or not made a Will. If I’d booked to go on holiday there next week, I would have definitely cancelled it. What a sad day it was yesterday, around the world.

There will never be Peace, I think of the small place where I work, there are fifteen of us, and those who hate and immensely, dislike a particular person, has always disliked them, that hasn’t changed and will never change, they will never ever say anything nice about that person, their views of that person remains unchanged, even if you see them laughing and talking with them, as I do see that often, but get them alone, with just myself and them, when that person they despise comes up in the subject and it inevitably does, it is always the same, “I hate her,” Or, “I hate him.” And to be fair, some of the people I work with are nasty, there is no denying that. I remember one person who was very, very nasty to me, who made me cry when I came home, I even imagined, or wished I had a gun that I could kill that person!

But it’s sad that a nasty person can bring the worst out of  me, but I did feel ‘better,’ but I do know the difference between wrong and right, and if someone did put a gun in my hand at that moment, I wouldn’t pull the trigger, I’d put the gun down, would they then pick it up and kill me? Probably, if they thought they could get away with it. My daughter Meghan told me of a film she saw called The Purge, with Paul my Husband, where for a short time people could take revenge or kill whoever they wanted to without getting into trouble.

Where I work is on a small scale, those who do atrocities like what we saw on our telly’s yesterday so indiscriminately, they know nothing of the individuals life, some would have been an only child, some about to graduate, some workers it would have been their dream job, the break they so needed and hoped for. All religions would have been represented in those hotels, or people without a religion and lots of money would have been spent towards helping their economy, today their hospitals are full to overflowing, and buildings damaged beyond repair. This is what power is in the wrong hands, the ‘gun,’ that they have taken, they didn’t put it down, they don’t even know who the enemy is, because hundreds died and hundreds were injured, even their own relative could have been working in one of those luxury hotels.

What have they gained? They haven’t gained anything at all. Their hate has caused untold suffering to the living and the dead, this is on a huge scale, worldwide. This affects us all, I try to be a peacemaker at work and try to show the person, that there is good in the person they hate for the person they hate, usually I see them as ninety nine percent decent, honest and hardworking, but their secret hater does not see that. And those who commit their crimes on a large scale as seen yesterday does not see that either. Their hate remains unchanged.

We need a Peacemaker for the World.
