Faith, Hope and Love
In this house we always made a big thing of Christmas with a tree and plentiful colourful decorations and the traditional celebrations with presents and a large Christmas family lunch.
However for years now it has been only us two and all the more meagre, this was our only decoration in 2024.
We hardly ever saw any of our friends or family and I was almost totally isolated for a decade and without any spending money but still sober, off the smokes etc. Picked up a bit of weight …
Meanwhile my brother had to be hospitalised with some very serious operations, he has a hernia and is still recovering from a severe wound. He is responsible for the household and we do all our own domestic work.
This was our Christmas Tree things are a lot better since. The Chess men are new, that I have added.
In order to better understand the circumstances and my isolation you should read my autobiography stories on the set Ivory Tower. It is not so simple.
Strong hope is a much greater stimulant of life than any single realised joy can be.

Keep well. Paul

I too hope things are on the up for you and your brother, Tom. Remember that when Pandora had let all the evils out into the world, there was one thing left in the box - and that was Hope.

Tom, I've been thinking that
Tom, I've been thinking that the photo was still a sweet reminder of other remembered Christmases.
The main thing is remembering that real reason for Christmas festivty and joy is remembering the dawn of real hope in the birth of the Saviour — and He knows whatever our situation and weakness and distress — "Whoever comes to me I will never cast out" John 6:37
