He sits before a cracklin fire
It's warmth he dosen't feel
The question screaming in his mind
My God can this be real
We were together for so long
Our souls were intertwined
The face that he had always loved
Stays fixed upon his mind
Please take me Lord
I cannot bear this misery and pain
I'm just a shell my spirits gone
Never to return again
I'm grateful for the time I had
With my wife,lover and friend
How could I know the day she died
Was the day my life would end
