Money Idea: Magic Money Circle (or Cyclical pot)

Say that there are 11 people who each earn 100 pounds a week; they are the money circle.
The first week they all put ten pounds into a pot and one of the 11 people gets an extra 100 pounds that week.
The next week, the same, they all put ten pounds into a pot and the next person in the circle gets an extra hundred pounds that week.
And so on and so forth.
At the end of 11 weeks everyone in the circle will have enjoyed a week where they received an extra hundred pounds.
Now say there are a 1000 people in the magic money circle.
Sounds like a pyramid scheme doesn’t it? But I’m not claiming that it would make anyone rich, only that everyone in the circle would get a week in which they would have extra money to have a bit of fun; have a little holiday, however, in order to do so, you’d have to give up ten pounds each week and wait your turn.
It’s the sort of thing that people could do in a work place or in a community, I think.
After thinking this over, I realize its a bit like 'Putting money in the kitty' except that, rather than paying for tea and biscuits for everyone, it's assuring that every one in a group has a week of fun.
