Please be careful, little boy.

Your magnifying glass,

though it may seem a harmless toy,

can burn the leaves and grass.

 

While studying the flowers and

the busy ants and mites

the little lens held in your hand

could set them all alight.

A parable about the harm that scientists are capable of doing if they act blindly and arrogantly. For example, when they refuse to take seriously the concerns of environmentalists over GM crops. Thank you, Maisie. Glad you liked it.
