Shape Memory Perpetual Clockwork Engine/ Also: Shape Memory Toy Ideas - Magic Growing Plant/Shapeshifters/Flexoids/Miss Memory

 

Toy Idea - Magic growing plant - Self growing toy plant made of shape memory polymers and containing shape memory alloy wire This is a plastic toy plant made of shape memory polymer with a skeleton of shape memory wire.
Firstly you fold/roll up or squish it down into its plant pot.
Then you fill up a toy watering can with warm water and pour water on the plant.
The warm water will make the memory polymer and memory wire inside the plant return to its 'Programmed shape'.
As it does then the plant will rise from the plant pot and unfold its leaves like a plant growing
Note: The same thing could be done with toy plants bursting out of toy seed pods or toy creatures bursting out of toy eggs.
Toy Idea - Shapeshifters - Shape memory action figures Shapeshifters are action figures or dolls moulded out of Shape-memory polymers and programmed with two different shapes (human/animal/alien/monster etcetera) so that at different temperatures the toys will change shape.
I don't know if this concept would work with jointed action figures but, if not, they could be one piece, non-posable action figures like the once popular "Monster In My Pocket" toys and, if so, I think the shape changing novelty would compensate for that drawback.

 

Toy Idea - Flexoids - Electric Bendy Toy Flexoids are action figures with bendable rubber limbs containing shape memory alloy wire that programmed with a 'bent limb shape'.
When you put batteries into a Flexoid and switch it on, it will cause electricity to be intermittently conducted to the memory wire that will then bend when there is electricity going to it and straighten when there isn't thus making a toy with moving rubber limbs.
For example you could have a figure with bendable octopus tentacles that wriggle and writhe.
At the same time, if children just want to bend the rubber limbs at they choose then they can just switch off the power.
Toy Idea - Miss Memory - Shape Memory Hair Doll Miss Memory is a doll with hair made either from shape memory polymer or shape memory wire. Children can twist the dolls hair into all kinds of shapes and then, when they wash it in warm water, it will straighten again.
