Spiritual

Little Carrie

I wrote this song about a drug addict who I met begging for money in Victoria Coach Station in London.

The Runaway

I wrote this poem about a friend who had several relationships with women but frequently left them and seemed to be happy living on the streets of London.

The Tramp On Northumberland Street

A poem I wrote about a tramp who used to live on Northumberland Street in Newcastle. He disappeared after 1992 and I understand his name was Tom and he was killed by a car near Newcastle Airport.

How Bizarre

I was bullied at school and was unemployed for many years. Having listened to a record on a budget CD entitled, 'How Bizarre,' I wrote this poem about some of the things that are bizarre in my life.

Darkness

I wrote a poem about an alcoholic. It was intended as a joke. My friend said, 'I was an alcoholic. That's exactly what it was like.' He asked someone to read it out in church.

It's Not Fair God

Many things in this world are unfair. This poem examines how people blame God for them and refuse to do anything about it themselves.

St. Nicholas Cathedral

I have always liked old churches, places where people have worshipped God for hundreds of years. This poem was written after a visit to St. Nicholas' Cathedral in Newcastle.

He Saves Souls

This poem describes Jesus dying a criminal's death on the cross so that we could be saved.

He's The Messiah

Son of God, Light Of The World, he's the Messiah, To the tune of Pretty Flamingo.

If Jesus Were Born Today - Original Poem

This is the original poem, written several years ago, on which the Christmas 2006 story If Jesus Were Born Today is based.
