Golden Lake, Ontario, Canada 1999
The air around the lake rang with the constant siren of sircanders, The surface rippled as the lake breathed, gently, effortlessly. untouched by man, under attack only by the circling birds and the vast stretch of clear sky. In the morning, mountains rose around the lake. During the day the diamante surface was caught. Breath-taking beauty waiting to be lapped up by passers by. Sun patterned the water, a moving patchwork quilt, soft stripes, circles and grids beating it's pulse. On the shady banks there were trees, Perfectly placed by nature and, in amongst the grass, tall chipmunk tails, twitched nervously. A little jetty- old, unused, melted into the lake. It looked as if nature had placed it there herself. Seagulls met and sang tunelessly, here. The sea-through glass lake lived. The mountains and trees were sleepy. In the distance life's engines could be heard passing by. The lake shone above, silently.
