THE CHOSEN ONES ( PART TWEVE )

Jonah and his men had been travelling for three
days, they had travelled a great distance and
almost finished digging the ten pits. Jonah, had
awoken that morning in very high spirits, he
announced to the men, that there would be no pit
digging that day, he had decided the men would go
hunting and have a good feast.
The men were weary and unsure, but so glad of the
break from digging, that their spirits were raised
somewhat. They talked among themselves, wondering
what had become of their leader Nathen, "was he
dead or alive?"
Jonah told the men, to make camp in a thicket of the forest, he said they must build a fire to cook the food they would be eating later. Jonah took
some of his own men, out with some of Nathen's men,
while the rest of his own men would stay behind and
guard the rest of Nathen's men back at the camp,
that way they were less likely to escape.
Jonah had decided to go along by the river, as his
senses told him that there were other humans close
by, he was also sure that in the far distance, he
had seen a figure coming up out of the river, but
because it was so far away, he couldn't be sure.
'May be!' he thought, 'there might be more men to
join the others,' he rubbed his hands together,
deciding he would look tomorrow, for today they
would hunt and feast.
As they made their way through the forest, there
was a cold chill in the air, Nathen's men were
really desperate for some good wholesome food.
Jonah shouted, "we will feast on rabbit stew tonight and we will catch many fish, I'm a true
fisherman," he said proudly, "so I will fish and
you other men will hunt rabbit."
That night Jonah was so sure of himself, he thought, 'the more men I capture, the more powerful I become. I will give the men a treat
every now and then, just to keep them happy, then
watch them work till they drop.' An evil grin came
over his face, as again he rubbed his hands together in pleasure.
